Bone Tool. Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-T77 Okada excavations HHT, Level 4C (listed in database; none found in Williamson). Hot Springs 1B. Dating back to 1600-1300 BCE. The massive village of Hot Springs sits on the shore of Port Moller, where the southern Bering Sea meets the Alaska Peninsula. Multiple teams have excavated this site over the last century. The primary occupations date back to 2000 BCE-1000 BCE and from 100 CE to 800 CE. The artifacts at Hot Springs are a direct result of research conducted under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner led the investigation as Principal Investigator. Original digitization work was done at the IVL at Idaho State University, while subsequent processing took place at Global Digital Heritage.
