Fixed Harpoon excavations uncover massive village remnants at Hot Springs site in Port Moller, Alaska. CAT# 77-47-T50 Okada digs reveal 3A level artifacts at Hot Springs 1B dating back to 1600-1300 BCE. The Hot Springs site stands as a colossal settlement on the shore of Port Moller, situated on the Alaska Peninsula side of the southern Bering Sea. Multiple excavation teams have worked tirelessly over the past century to uncover its secrets. Primary occupations span from 2000 BCE to 1000 BCE and from 100 CE to 800 CE. The Hot Springs artifacts emerge as a result of research conducted under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411, spearheaded by Principal Investigator H. Maschner. Original digitization took place at the IVL at Id. St. Univ., while subsequent processing was completed at Global Digital Heritage.
