Hot Springs 2B. 500-800 CE The Hot Springs site sits majestically on the shore of Port Moller, its grandeur sprawling across the southern Bering Sea's Alaska Peninsula side. For over a century, numerous teams have meticulously excavated this massive village, uncovering its secrets one layer at a time. The primary occupations span an impressive timeframe, from 2000 BCE to 1000 BCE, and again from 100 CE to 800 CE. The Hot Springs artifacts emerge as direct results of the groundbreaking research conducted under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner, Principal Investigator, spearheaded this pivotal project. The original digitizing work was executed with precision at the IVL, Id. St. Univ., while subsequent processing was completed with finesse at Global Digital Heritage.
