Harpoon Fore Shaft. Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-T229 Okada excavations HHT, Level 5C. Hot Springs 1B. 1600-1300 BCE. The massive village of Hot Springs sprawls across the shore of Port Moller, its southern Bering Sea shoreline a testament to human ingenuity. Over the past century, multiple excavation teams have meticulously uncovered its secrets. Primarily occupied between 2000 BCE and 1000 BCE, as well as from 100 CE to 800 CE, this thriving settlement has yielded an abundance of artifacts. The research behind these finds is proudly attributed to grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411, with H. Maschner serving as the Principal Investigator. Original digitization took place at the IVL at Idaho State University, while subsequent processing was completed at Global Digital Heritage.
