Bird Humerus Awl is found in Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska. CAT# 77-47-T224 Okada excavations HHT, Level 5C. Hot Springs 1B. 1600-1300 BCE. Hot Springs site sprawls across the shore of Port Moller on the southern Bering Sea's Alaska Peninsula side. Multiple teams have excavated this massive village over a century-long period. Main occupations date back to 2000 BCE and 100 CE, extending up to 800 CE. Research conducted under NSF grants 0137756, 1204020, 1139266, and 1321411 yields the Hot Springs artifacts. H. Maschner leads the investigation as Principal Investigator. Digitizing work begins at Id. St. Univ.'s IVL, followed by subsequent processing at Global Digital Heritage.
