Human Remains Fragment. Secluded Hot Springs Community, Port Moller, Alaska Catalog Number 77-47-T21 Okada Archaeological Discoveries HHT, Level 2B Excavation Site. Hot Springs Village 2B, 500-800 CE. The sequestered Hot Springs settlement sprawls majestically along the shores of Port Moller, situated on the southern Bering Sea's Alaska Peninsula side. Multiple archaeological teams have excavated this site over the past century. The primary occupations date back to 2000 BCE-1000 BCE and from 100 CE to 800 CE. The artifacts unearthed at Hot Springs are the direct result of thorough research conducted under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner serves as Principal Investigator for this project. Initial digitization work was completed at the IVL laboratory on the campus of Idah State University. Further processing took place at Global Digital Heritage.
