Harpoon Fragment. Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-T199 Okada excavations HHT, Level 5B. Hot Springs 1B. 1600-1300 BCE. Excavated by multiple teams over the past century, the sprawling Hot Springs village sprawls along the shores of Port Moller on the southern Bering Sea's Alaska Peninsula side. Primary occupations date back to 2000 BCE and extend through 100 CE, with a second wave occurring between 800 CE and 1000 CE. The research team presents the Hot Springs artifacts as a culmination of studies funded by NSF grants 0137756, 1204020, 1139266, and 1321411. H. Maschner serves as Principal Investigator, overseeing original digitizing work conducted at the IVL at Id. St. Univ. Further processing took place at Global Digital Heritage.
