The Harpoon Barb from Hot Springs Village in Port Moller, Alaska, is a significant archaeological find with the catalog number 77-47-T183. This artifact originated from the Okada excavations at HHT, Level 5C, within the Hot Springs 1B site. The timeframe for this relic spans from 1600 BCE to 1300 BCE. Located on the Alaska Peninsula side of the southern Bering Sea, the massive Hot Springs village lies along the shore of Port Moller. Over a century ago, various archaeological teams undertook excavations at this site. Their research revealed two primary periods of occupation: one spanning from 2000 BCE to 1000 BCE and another from 100 CE to 800 CE. The comprehensive study of the Hot Springs artifacts was conducted under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner served as the Principal Investigator for this research project. The initial digitization of these findings took place at the IVL located within Idaho State University's campus. Subsequent processing was completed at Global Digital Heritage.
