End Blade Fragment. Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-T15 Okada excavations HHT, Level 2. Hot Springs 2B. 500-800 CE. The massive village of Hot Springs sits proudly on the shore of Port Moller, boasting a stunning location on the Alaska Peninsula side of the southern Bering Sea. For over a century, numerous teams have conducted thorough excavations at this site. The primary occupations date back to 2000 BCE-1000 BCE and more recently from 100 CE to 800 CE. The impressive collection of Hot Springs artifacts is the direct result of rigorous research carried out under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner leads the team as Principal Investigator. The original digitization work was completed at the IVL at Idaho State University. Subsequent processing was finished at Global Digital Heritage.
