Human: Bird Humerus Awl. Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-T105 Okada excavations HHT, Level 5B, Hot Springs 1B. 1600-1300 BCE. The village of Hot Springs is situated on the shores of Port Moller, a location on the southern Bering Sea side of the Alaska Peninsula. This massive settlement has been excavated by multiple teams over the past century. The primary occupation periods at Hot Springs date back to between 2000 BCE and 1000 BCE, as well as from 100 CE to 800 CE. The artifacts uncovered at the Hot Springs site are a result of research conducted under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner led this investigation as Principal Investigator. The original digitizing work was completed at the IVL at Idaho State University, with subsequent processing done at Global Digital Heritage.
