Barb for Fish Hook or Leister, CAT# 77-47-T1, Okada excavations, Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska. HHT, Level 1, Hot Springs 2B, 500-800 CE. The massive village of Hot Springs sits on the shore of Port Moller, located on the southern Bering Sea side of the Alaska Peninsula. Over a century's worth of excavations have been conducted by multiple teams, revealing two distinct periods of occupation: 2000 BCE-1000 BCE and 100 CE-800 CE. The artifacts from Hot Springs Village were collected as part of research projects funded by NSF grants 0137756, 1204020, 1139266, and 1321411. H. Maschner led the investigation as Principal Investigator. The original digitization took place at the IVL at Idaho State University, with subsequent processing completed at Global Digital Heritage.
