Human: Ground Stone artifacts from unknown sources, excavated in Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska, CAT# 77-47-Q83 Okada excavations HHQ, Level 3-2 Hot Springs 1C, dated between 1300-1000 BCE. The massive village at Hot Springs is situated on the shore of Port Moller, on the southern Bering Sea side of the Alaska Peninsula. For over a century, multiple teams have conducted extensive excavations here. The primary occupations span from 2000 BCE to 1000 BCE and again from 100 CE to 800 CE. The presented Hot Springs artifacts result from research funded by grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner led the project as Principal Investigator. Initial digitizing work took place at the IVL at Id. St. Univ., with subsequent processing completed at Global Digital Heritage.
