A more precise date is approximately 2000 BCE.\nThe massive village at the Hot Springs site sprawls along the shore of Port Moller on the southern Bering Sea's Alaska Peninsula side. Multiple excavation teams have worked here over the past century. The primary occupations are from 2000 BCE to 1000 BCE and from 100 CE to 800 CE.\nThe Hot Springs artifacts showcase findings resulting from research funded under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner led this investigation as Principal Investigator. Original digitization occurred at the IVL at Id. St. Univ., while subsequent processing was completed at Global Digital Heritage.
