End Blade Base, Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-Q48 Okada excavations HHQ, Level 1-4. Hot Springs 2B 500-850 CE The massive village of Hot Springs is situated on the shore of Port Moller, boasting a strategic location on the Alaska Peninsula side of the southern Bering Sea. Over the past century, multiple excavation teams have meticulously uncovered the secrets of this ancient site. Dominant occupations date back to 2000 BCE-1000 BCE and another phase from 100 CE to 800 CE. Excavated artifacts from Hot Springs are a direct result of extensive research conducted under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner spearheaded this project as Principal Investigator. The original digitizing process was carried out at the IVL at Id. St. Univ., while subsequent processing was completed by Global Digital Heritage.
