Fishing Leister Prong, Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-Q47 Okada excavations HHQ, Level 1-4, House A. Hot Springs 2B 500-850 CE The massive village of Hot Springs lies on the shore of Port Moller, situated on the Alaska Peninsula side of the southern Bering Sea. Over a period of 100 years, several teams of excavators worked tirelessly to uncover its secrets. The primary occupations date back to 2000 BCE and extend through 100 CE and then again from 800 CE. The Hot Springs artifacts are showcased as a direct result of research conducted under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner led the investigation as Principal Investigator. Initial digitizing work was completed at the IVL at Idaho State University. Subsequent processing took place at Global Digital Heritage.
