Harpoon Tip, Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-Q262 Okada excavations HHQ, Level 4-14 Hot Springs 1B/C are dated back to 1600-1200 BCE. The massive village of Hot Springs is situated on the shore of Port Moller, specifically on the Alaska Peninsula side of the southern Bering Sea. Over a period of 100 years, several different excavation teams have thoroughly explored this site. The main occupation periods at the Hot Springs village are from 2000 BCE-1000 BCE and from 100 CE to 800 CE. The research team's efforts led to the presentation of artifacts as a result of grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner is recognized as the Principal Investigator who spearheaded this project. Original digitizing work was carried out at the IVL at Idaho State University, while subsequent processing took place at Global Digital Heritage.
