Biface, Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-Q382 Okada excavations HHQ, Level 4-12 Hot Springs 1B/C. 1600-1200 BCE. The massive village of Hot Springs sits on the shore of Port Moller, directly opposite the southern Bering Sea. Multiple teams have conducted extensive excavations over the past century. Primary occupations occurred between 2000 BCE and 1000 BCE, as well as from 100 CE to 800 CE. The Hot Springs artifacts are a direct result of research funded by NSF grants 0137756, 1204020, 1139266, and 1321411. H. Maschner serves as Principal Investigator. Initial digitization was performed at the IVL at Idaho State University, followed by subsequent processing at Global Digital Heritage.
