Human: CAT# 77-47-Q353 Lunate Knife, Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska Okada excavations HHQ, Level 4-8 Hot Springs 1C, dating back to 1300-1000 BCE. The massive village of Hot Springs is situated on the shore of Port Moller, on the southern Bering Sea side of the Alaska Peninsula. Over a century ago, several teams conducted extensive excavations at this site. The main occupations here spanned from 2000 BCE to 1000 BCE and then again from 100 CE to 800 CE. The Hot Springs artifacts are presented as a result of thorough research conducted under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner led the investigation as Principal Investigator. All original digitizing work was done at the IVL at Id. St. Univ., while subsequent processing took place at Global Digital Heritage.
