Human: Excavation Site Mid-Section, Village of Hot Springs, Port Moller Shore, Alaska Peninsula CAT# 77-47-Q347 Okada excavations HHQ, Level 4-8, Southern Bering Sea Coastal Village. 1300-1000 BCE. The massive coastal village at Hot Springs is situated on the shore of Port Moller, where several excavation teams have worked over the past century. The primary occupations date back to 2000 BCE and continue through 100 CE, with a secondary occupation from 800 CE. The artifacts from Hot Springs were collected as a result of research funded by grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner led the investigation. The initial digitization took place at Idahoe State University's IVL lab, with subsequent processing completed by Global Digital Heritage team members.
