77-47-Q290 Toggling Harpoon, Hot Springs Village

Toggling Harpoon is situated in Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-Q290 Okada excavations HHQ, Level 2-4 Hot Springs 1C. 1300-1000 BCE. Hot Springs Village is a large settlement on the coast of Port Moller, located on the southern Bering Sea side of the Alaska Peninsula. The site has been extensively excavated by multiple teams over the past century. The primary periods of occupation span from 2000 BCE to 1000 BCE and again from 100 CE to 800 CE. The artifacts discovered at Hot Springs Village are a direct result of research conducted under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner is the principal investigator behind this project. Initial digitization took place at the IVL at Idaho State University, while subsequent processing was completed at Global Digital Heritage.
