Human: Excavation Record, Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska ID# 77-47-Q262 Okada discoveries HHQ, Level 4-6 Hot Springs Site 1C. Dating to 1300-1000 BCE, though possibly influenced by lower levels artifacts.\nThe sprawling village of Hot Springs lies on the shoreline of Port Moller, situated on the southern Bering Sea side of the Alaska Peninsula. Multiple excavation teams have worked here over the past century, uncovering remnants from two main occupation periods: 2000 BCE-1000 BCE and 100 CE-800 CE.\nThe artifacts unearthed at Hot Springs are a direct result of research conducted under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner led the investigation as Principal Investigator. Initial digitization took place at the IVL on Id. St. Univ.'s campus, with subsequent processing completed by Global Digital Heritage.
