Harpoon Tip, Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-Q260 Okada excavations HHQ, Level 4-6 Hot Springs 1C. Dating from 1300 to 1000 BCE, but possibly mixed with materials from lower levels. The massive Hot Springs village sprawls along the shore of Port Moller on the southern Bering Sea's Alaska Peninsula side. Over the last century, multiple teams have excavated this site. The main occupations date back to 2000 BCE-1000 BCE and 100 CE-800 CE. Research conducted under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411 has yielded the Hot Springs artifacts. H. Maschner is the principal investigator behind this research. Original digitizing work took place at the IVL in Idaho State University. Global Digital Heritage completed subsequent processing.
