Human: Site Tip, Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-Q231 Okada excavations HHQ, Level 4-4 Hot Springs 1C. Radiocarbon dating suggests 1300-1000 BCE, but may be contaminated from lower levels.\nThe Hot Springs site is a large village situated on the shore of Port Moller, facing the southern Bering Sea on the Alaska Peninsula side. Excavations have been carried out by multiple teams over the past century. The primary occupations occurred between 2000 BCE-1000 BCE, and again between 100 CE to 800 CE.\nThe Hot Springs artifacts are presented as a result of research conducted under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner, Principal Investigator. Original digitization was done at the IVL in Idaho State University. Further processing was completed at Global Digital Heritage.
