Figurine, Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-Q197 Okada excavations HHQ, Level 4-3 Hot Springs 1C. 1300-1000 BCE. The massive village of Hot Springs lies on the shore of Port Moller, situated on the southern Bering Sea side of the Alaska Peninsula. Over the past century, various teams have excavated this site. The primary occupations date back to 2000 BCE and continue through 100 CE, with a subsequent occupation spanning from 800 CE. The Hot Springs artifacts are showcased as a result of research conducted under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner serves as the Principal Investigator. Initial digitizing work took place at the IVL lab at Idaho State University, while subsequent processing was completed by Global Digital Heritage.
