Human: Bone Toggle / Rope Lock, Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-Q132 Okada excavations HHQ, Level 3-2 House A Hot Springs 2B, dating from 500 to 800 CE, possibly influenced by lower levels. The massive village of Hot Springs sits on the shore of Port Moller, nestled in the southern Bering Sea's Alaska Peninsula side. Over a century ago, various teams embarked on excavations, uncovering key occupations spanning 2000 BCE-1000 BCE and 100-800 CE. Hot Springs artifacts result from research funded by NSF grants 0137756, 1204020, 1139266, and 1321411, under the guidance of H. Maschner, Principal Investigator. Digitizing work began at the IVL on Idaho State University's campus; subsequent processing was completed at Global Digital Heritage.
