70mm EFlite (FMS) Kallend burner adapter enlarged for LED housing
thingiverse
I had a couple of LEDs fail due to excessive glue inside the housing. When I tried to separate the plastic housing from the metal LED tube, the tiny copper-colored magnet wire from the spool inside broke, and the hardened excess glue prevented me from getting enough wire loose from the spool to resolder it. Depending on the batch you get when buying, there may or may not be a lot of glue on the inside of the plastic housing. I've had a batch before that was very easy to separate, so it's just a matter of luck. So I remixed a Kallend adapter. In this version, you only have to sand off the wide plastic sides of the yellow housing (use a belt sander for that) and melt/cut off the flat end plastic where the wires protrude from (use a hot tool like a soldering iron). If you study the side-by-side picture, you'll see what I mean. The LED with plastic housing will now drop into the adapter from above. Use some CA to fix it in place. But first, solder the connecting wires. I extended the base of the adapter too, so it has more "flesh" to grip the motorcan when zip tied to it. The file has the edges cleaned up; the pictures show the first uncleaned version.
