7" SourceOne GoPro Mount (20°)
thingiverse
This is a GoPro mount designed specifically for the SourceOne with 7-inch arms and props, offering several key features and benefits. 20° GoPro 5/6/7 cameras are supported with an ND filter, allowing for no props in shot. The HS1177 (Full) 26x28mm design fits perfectly on the Runcam Swift 2 Rotor Riot Edition. A full-length top deck battery is included, measuring approximately 155mm in length. Optional Matek SAM-M8Q GPS and ViFly Finder v2 mounts are also available for added functionality. To ensure proper fitment, it's essential to carefully read the following guidelines: The arms have been extended forward by one hole to accommodate the stack screws, which no longer pass through the arms. New screws and nuts have been added to secure the inside-facing mounting holes of the arms. This modification provides better prop clearance but may increase the risk of damage in a crash. Motor cables may also be too short for this setup, and trimming a slot on the mount to the left and right may be necessary for proper fitment. The props will be extremely close to the GoPro if it fits at all. If you attempt to fit the mount without extending the arms, please let me know how it goes. A 20° tilt offers excellent cruising capabilities while maintaining approximately a quarter of the screen as sky. Sample footage is available on Reelsteady GO (https://youtu.be/0ydKknTcWoA). The forward holes can be used with 7-inch arms and 6-inch props without extending the arms. The weight of the empty mount is approximately 60g, excluding GPS/ViFly. For optimal performance, it's recommended to increase P, D, and I on pitch to compensate for the added weight on the front. However, I've flown with BF 4.0 default PIDs for some time without issues. Mounting the battery at the back is also suggested for best results. Be patient when removing supports, as it's easy to damage the print. A razor blade and needle-nose pliers are recommended tools for this process. The mount was designed to be installed on a level surface, allowing for clean standoff holes and reduced support needs inside the GoPro mount. I've only uploaded this design due to repeated requests. This is a specific mount that may not meet your requirements. As it's my first design, I'm unlikely to make any changes, and the FreeCAD file is currently a mess. This mount is based on the Marmotte/Badger GoPro Hero mount (TBS ND filter compatible) by leekdonut.
