I have created a 3D model of the stunning "Stella Maris" building to showcase another incredible artistic treasure found in Italy. To view the model, please visit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9wnnU9yYec The Stella Maris building is an historic structure shaped like an airplane, designed by architects Leone and Liguori in 1939. Located in Montesilvano, a municipality in the province of Pescara within the Abruzzo region, this seaside resort is just a few meters from the sea. My model is meticulously faithful to the original structure in all its details, scaled down to 1/100 for easier printing. To make it printable with common 3D prints, I divided the entire building into sections and then into individual parts, each with maximum dimensions of 15-19 cm. Before printing, I noticed that the "CURA" program displayed the parts in reduced dimensions. To correct this, you need to enlarge them ten times to achieve the desired scale. This publication includes two sections: the ground floor and stairs. Later, all other sections will be added, as the design is complete but divided into printable 3D parts. The base of the entire model measures about 80 x 60 cm, requiring a suitable platform for assembling the various components. In my first section, I present the entire ground floor and stairs of the building. Subsequent sections will follow, showcasing the remaining parts of this unique structure. Commissioned by the Fasci Combattenti di Rieti to architects Leoni and Liguori, this project was completed in 9 months and inaugurated on September 10, 1939. The building's symmetry reflects its distribution clarity: the ground-floor pillars detach the airplane wings, creating a vast shaded area that connects to external spaces. At the center lies an elegant spiral staircase supported by a cylindrical pillar, topped with stunning rafter-like beams. The "torrino" is a cylindrical element situated at the center of the two wings, housing the commander's apartment.
