7" Range Hood Damper

I just installed a new range hood and it quickly became apparent that the manufacturer had forgotten to include a damper. I decided to buy one made out of sheet metal, thinking it would be an easy fix, but what I got was a constant ting, ting, ting that completely nullified any advantage I had hoped to gain from my purchase. I then thought about making a custom damper and printing it myself using 3D printing technology. This idea thrilled me and soon I found myself excitedly working on a new project. The results were incredibly satisfying and the finished product was exactly what I needed. It's unlikely that I will ever print another one of these, but I'm uploading my design to this website in case it might help someone else who is dealing with a similar problem.
