7 inch lcd with raspberry pi housing
thingiverse
I built a housing for a car PC using original files that weren't to scale. I had to combine all components into one small package, including the Raspberry Pi, 7-inch LCD, touchscreen, USB charging point, and 12V to 5V 3 amp regulator. Originally, I planned two separate boxes, but then decided to include everything in one housing. I made the card slot on the Raspberry Pi case larger because it can be a real challenge to get the card into place. After that change, I inserted a third card, but the same issue occurred – even with tweezers, the cards kept getting stuck and popping out. This happened with two Raspberry Pis, so I ordered a new SD card holder from Amazon which solved the problem. If this project is going in a car, do not print it in PLA as it will warp. The Raspberry Pi housing attaches to the rear side of the main body, and I printed it with ABS plastic. To connect the parts, I used acetone to weld them together. The difference between most files lies in the number of USB charging point holes – one, two, or none. I pushed the USB plugs through the holes right after removing them from a vape bath when the ABS was still pliable and connected these to the 12V to 5V regulator.
