7 Habits of an Effective Leader in Gears

My son's school is diving headfirst into the 7 Habits, and I wanted to jump onboard with them by crafting gears with each habit engraved onto it. April 28, 2015 - The project is now complete, and I've posted an updated photo of the finished product. My son worked side-by-side with his principal to bring this vision to life using a MakerBot printer at actual size. If you examine these prints up close, you'll likely conclude that they need to be resized before being printed. Instructions: I turned to the free version of Autodesk 123 to design them from scratch. I picked out a gear model and superimposed the text onto it. Once the text was integrated into the design, I extruded it and saved each habit as an STL file for easy printing. To guarantee their structural integrity, I imported them into NetFAB for water-tight testing. Considering the gears' relatively small size, you may need to scale them up in your slicer software before printing. However, with my current settings on the MakerBot platform at 2 inches per gear, I was able to fit all seven of them seamlessly onto a single platform.
