7 Cylinder Radial Engine Model
thingiverse
Note: This model corrects the original 8 cylinder radial engine model I built earlier. After publishing the previous version, I realized that 4 stroke radial engines need an odd number of cylinders. As a correction, I modified the cylinder block to have 7 cylinders instead of 8. Most parts are identical to the previous one, so if you've already built the 8 cylinder version, you can remake a few parts and build a more realistic radial engine model. To assemble, print the required parts and follow the assembly procedure: - Cylinder Block - Handle * - Rotor * - Pin * - Hub Bottom (Requires support) - Hub Top - Piston (x 7ea) * - Rod (x 6ea) * (Parts with an asterisk are identical to the 8 cylinder version. Note that you need one less piston and rod.) The "un-sectioned" cylinder block is also uploaded, but I haven't tried printing it (I'm not entirely sure if the parts can be assembled into it). I designed some slack in each part, but you may want to ensure all parts fit with sufficient clearance for smooth motion.
