7 Cylinder Dummy Radial Engine
thingiverse
This is a versatile 7 Cylinder radial engine designed for electric RC models. The model is not specifically based on any particular engine but looks impressive enough to suit most needs, especially foamies and parkflyers. I printed a version at 75% scale and use it on a 72" span foamboard PT-17 Stearman. The engine looks fantastic and receives plenty of compliments at the flying field. Built into the back of each cylinder is an "exhaust" port that allows hot air from the motor to escape freely. The 75% model has ample clearance for an eflite Power 60 or the new FT Monster Radial motors. I aim to create a video tutorial on assembling the engine soon and will share it as soon as possible. Assembling the engine is not overly complicated, but there are some tips that make it easier and improve results. I expect most modelers will be able to figure it out without any issues. An adjustable mount was added on August 18th, 2019. This allows you to screw the motor to the firewall for easy removal and maintenance of the motor. Once you have it positioned as desired, use epoxy to permanently attach the radial to the mount. Check out the Stearman flying with this engine HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTYiqbTgJ-M
