7 Bladed Beta Propeller

7 Bladed Beta Propeller

thingiverse

A beta-propeller, found in structural biology, is a type of all-beta protein architecture distinguished by 4-8 blade-shaped beta sheets arranged toroidally around a central axis. An example model can be based on the Protein Data Bank entry 1YFQ (a Yeast Bub3 mitotic checkpoint protein) and created using VMD software. When printed with a Replicator 2 using MakerWare 2.2.2.89, it is done at standard resolution, 25% infill, 3 shells, raft and supports. However, be cautious as this model is large and may take approximately 24 hours to print if rendered at 100% size.
