7.62 x 39 mm round
thingiverse
This 7.62 x 39mm model was downloaded from an online CAD resource without the designer's name. It was used to test the Thing-O-Matic printer's ability with tall, narrow objects. The print was conducted using a raft, no support, 20% infill for weight rather than strength, and two shell layers. However, there were issues towards the end of the casing section due to the nozzle being too close to the object. The printer's instability with tall objects like this is evident. As a new MakerBot user, the suggestion is made that objects should be printed using a moving extruder rather than a moving build platform. The print was unsuccessful, but it was a learning experience. Note that the STL file name is incorrect, and the model is for a 7.62 x 39mm round, not a 62mm round. Print at your own risk and experiment with different settings.
