6x9 to 6.5" speaker adapter and enclosure.

Adapter plate designed for seamless integration of a 6.5" speaker into a standard 6x9 mounting spot. The adapter comes with an optional enclosure that can be used or omitted depending on individual preferences. If the enclosure is not required, simply printing out the faceplate will enable easy installation. This design was initially created for a Jeep Grand Cherokee but its standard size makes it suitable for any vehicle featuring a 6x9 speaker location. Two versions of the adapter are available: a one-piece model and a more advanced two-piece design that eliminates the need for supports, similar to my approach. To accommodate various user preferences, I deliberately omitted a hole for speaker wiring, allowing users to choose their preferred method of installation. My goal was to provide flexibility while ensuring compatibility with different audio systems. Following initial testing, it became apparent that printing the adapter resulted in tolerances that were too tight. Adjustments should be made to the faceplate to ensure smooth assembly and optimal performance. The adapter's thickness was a deliberate design choice aimed at minimizing vibration absorption from mid-bass frequencies. While this approach may seem excessive, the resulting rigidity and strength of the adapter are significant benefits. Plans for an updated version are underway and will be released once development is complete.
