6ft Printable Bo Staff

To expand upon my snap fit connector design (available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:218949), I aimed to determine how large an item I could produce. Introducing a fully printable, customizable staff, suitable for costume use or display purposes. Additionally, I crafted a version adorned with an orb on top, resembling a wizard's staff or wand (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:223622). The components were printed using Medium quality settings in Makerware at 0.2 mm layer height and 10% infill on a Replicator 2 using PLA filament. Notably, all parts can be printed without requiring supports. Although the connector edges may droop slightly, this issue can easily be resolved with a razor blade or by hand if you have smaller hands. For my height of 5'10", I used 11 connectors, 10 linkers, and 2 end caps to create my staff. Assembling the parts was straightforward, requiring a gentle wiggling motion to snap them together. Be cautious not to apply excessive force, as this may cause the posts to break. To prevent damage, first attach a linker to each post before connecting the posts together.
