I needed a compact drone stand that would allow me to insert the USB cable while keeping the device perfectly level for accelerometer calibration purposes. The current design is too slippery to function effectively as a launch stand, but adding some sort of friction-generating element could make it suitable for this use case. To be honest, this stand is built with more robustness than needed, given its intended application. However, its design was inspired by the high-performance launch stands used in competitive racing environments.
