608 Pulley Wheel

608 Pulley Wheel

thingiverse

I'm creating a pulley wheel that uses two 608 bearings and an 8mm axle. This project originally came from my "Cable Cam" initiative, but I've decided to present it as a standalone creation. You can find the Fusion 360 file in this thread, which you can modify according to your preferences and share your remixes with others. This pulley wheel is especially useful if your printer settings don't match well with the model. Two 608 bearings are pressed into the wheel's interior, and using an 8mm threaded bolt as the axle seems to work perfectly. Dual nuts on each side can lock down the wheels or use locking nuts with a nylon insert that prevents walkout. Printing this pulley requires no supports, and PLA works great. A 608 press tool is included in the download to help you press in the bearings; use an arbor press or gentle mallet to seat the bearings with a press fit using the press tool only engage the outer race.
