60-tooth worm gear
thingiverse
I redesigned NateTG's original 60-tooth Acme worm gear with key upgrades: installing a center bore compatible with a 5mm shaft, precision-engineering M3 screw holes for maximum durability, refining the gear edges for reduced noise, recalibrating the STL file from inches to precise millimeters for flawless prints. To precisely replicate the specs of an authentic surplus Boston Gear worm, featuring 32 DP (Degrees of Pressure Angle) and a critical dimension ratio, I also implemented a strategic 1% upscaling adjustment. The optimized gear in action is showcased at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v92hfs-y-m4.
