60% Fixed Split Mechanical Keyboard
thingiverse
This is a Handcrafted 10cm Split 60% (69 Keys) Mechanical Keyboard.\r\nI aimed for a retro-futuristic look, and opinions on whether I succeeded vary - but I'm content either way.\r\n\r\nThe layout I'm sharing is ISO with arrow keys and staggered rows, but it's easily adaptable to other layouts like ortho or ANSI 60 with or without arrow keys. Simply swap out the plates, which are relatively simple.\r\n\r\nTo minimize 1U modifiers, I made some adjustments - however, two will still be needed for right CTRL and SHIFT. A 2.25U spacebar is also required (I have some printed on my profile).\r\nThe CapsLock key can accommodate either style of capslock.\r\n\r\nAs for the keyboard itself, there are two versions of the "sides" - the one pictured and a version without the decorative indents or notches. The middle section comes in both hole-containing and hole-free variations, with the latter being used if you change filament during printing. I also created "light" versions of each design, which have reduced internal components that were initially blocking the microcontroller or holding the USB cable. If unsure about which version to use, the middle-flat-light option is a safe choice - it offers more space and is easier to work with. Any unnecessary parts can be removed using pliers or a cutter; feel free to ask in the comments if clarification is needed.\r\n\r\nIf you print or modify this design, I'd love to see your finished product! I've included SolidWorks files for reference.
