6"x8" Picture Frame
thingiverse
After returning from our last vacation, we frantically searched every corner for a 6"x8" picture frame worthy of showcasing a 6"x8" photo kiosk photo taken during the trip. Unfortunately, after exhausting all options, we were forced to take matters into our own hands and design one ourselves. To assemble this complete frame, you will need to print two copies of each component - failing to do so will result in only having enough parts for the two corners. This picture frame was specifically designed to accommodate the glass and insert from an inexpensive 6"x8" picture frame purchased at Michael's. Since our finished product is slightly larger than our printer's build area (approximately 10"x12"x0.5"), we broke the frame into quarters that can be easily glued together - we highly recommend using plastic epoxy for this process. We also removed the small metal tabs from the back/inside of the inexpensive frame we used as inspiration with some needle-nose pliers and glued them into the slits in the 3D printed frame to keep the glass, photo, and cardboard securely in place when the frame is displayed or hung. When printing these parts, be extremely cautious of warping - if they warp, the frame may require some adjustments to fit together properly.
