6 x AA Battery Pack
thingiverse
This is a custom battery pack holder I made for personal use. It's designed to hold six AA batteries in series and fits neatly into a pocket. Perfect for devices requiring low current and voltage within the range of 7.2-8.4V, such as smaller LED lights or camera equipment typically using Sony camera batteries. To use this battery pack holder effectively: 1. Connect non-rechargeable 1.5V AA batteries in series to achieve a total voltage of around 9V, which will decrease depending on the amount of current drawn. 2. Alternatively, connect rechargeable 1.2V AA batteries in series for a steady delivery of approximately 7.2V. Important usage guidelines: * Never mix rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries together. * Do not combine different brands of batteries as this can lead to unpredictable results. The main battery tubes are roughly the length of three AA batteries, while the top lid is designed to be a flexible component that can accommodate various connection plates or printed squares with wires attached. The holes in the top lid serve as points for cable ties and strain relief for the main cords. The bottom lid is straightforward, serving only to connect the two stacked rows of batteries together. When assembled, there are two gaps between the top lid and the main tubes that can be used to attach a nylon strap or other material for hanging the battery pack from a belt, camera stand, or DSLR. To assemble this battery holder, you will need: * At least two 2.5mm screws with nyloc nuts that are long enough to pass through both lids and the nyloc nuts, leaving a few millimeters of extra length on the other side. * Alternatively, small cable ties can be used instead of screws for assembly; however, this method may not provide the same level of reliability. Additional components required include: * Three battery connection plates, either sourced from an existing device or custom-designed to fit. The top lid's inside indentations should be utilized in a way that makes sense. * Two connection cables to solder onto the battery connection plates. * Two small cable ties for strain relief and securing the assembly. Important safety note: I will not be held responsible for any injury or damage caused by 3D printed battery holders based on this design. It's crucial to remember that 3D printed parts are not safe for electronics, especially when dealing with high voltage or current. These devices should only be used under close supervision and with caution. Please note the following print settings: * Printer: Duplicator i3 Ultra * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.2mm * Infill: 50% to 100% * Notes: Print using a 0.8mm shell thickness and orient the part as shown in the STL previews for maximum strength. As for how I designed this battery pack holder, it's a well-guarded secret passed down through generations... Just kidding! It actually resembles a monolith, but that's just a coincidence.
