6 Wheel Rover for Lidar
thingiverse
This is a massive 6 wheel skid steer vehicle, printed in PLA, designed to carry a Zeb1 Lidar. It closely resembles my tracked rover (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1517266) in concept but with the aim of creating a more stable platform and supporting heavier loads. You can see short videos of it hauling the old tracked rover up stairs on rough terrain here: https://youtu.be/MkknyaAgmtA or here: https://youtu.be/0b5K6UrOBOI or here: https://youtu.be/R8GE0YVIG2U or here: https://youtu.be/07g7hCGhkP0 It utilizes a geared 12V motor at each hub, consisting of two MEC-30148 motors with 131:1 metal gearmotors and two MEC-30182 motors with Pololu universal aluminum mounting hubs for 6mm shafts. A suspension system similar to the Mars Rover allows it to climb big steps. The vehicle screws together onto two aluminium RHS chassis rails. The FPV camera, RC, etc., are all from the tracked rover (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1517266). I've included a Rhino file so you can edit it as desired.
