6 Watercolor Box with Clip (Experimental)
thingiverse
Human: Tested with Makerbot Replicator- Needs Further Development! Cons -The hinges fail to function properly, resulting in a messy underside of the print, and the clicky mechanism is too fragile. -Removing the pans once they fit into place proves challenging, necessitating a modification of the removal hole. Pros -The pans fit perfectly within the mold, enabling custom palettes and interchangeability. -The clip functions flawlessly for the water brush that I measured, with some potential allowance for other brushes. I drew inspiration from the design on Thingiverse, seeking a brush clip and additional boxes. However, the file was oddly distorted in TinkerCAD (it looked fine in Windows 3D viewer and another online program), forcing me to create it from scratch. This project served as a useful learning experience, allowing me to troubleshoot designs and become more familiar with software. I employed a pan design for the boxes, which I believe originated from beetlevc's work, but I'm not entirely certain. All sources are credited accordingly. The clip has an interior diameter of 13mm, designed to accommodate my Sakura Koi Water Brush. Additionally, I incorporated a small catch mechanism allowing it to snap closed, along with a circular hole for easier pan removal and supports for improved printing quality. I hope this design will function as intended during testing. I also have a version featuring four pan boxes. Netfabb corrected the original design, which I discovered after re-designing it.
