6-sided die Calibration
cults3d
This creation is a classic die with rather prominent holes that can be used to calibrate the axes of a printer. The basic idea was a more readable classic dice with homogeneous faces corresponding to the usual dice of board games. All this, replacing the calibration cube for filament testing (the famous XYZ). It turned out that the prominent holes could be filled with another color using a 3D pen in particular. Painting the background can also be suitable. I smoothed the rendering with a very fine sanding on the PLA. After sanding it is recommended to heat the plastic bleached by the sanding with a lighter to make it look natural. A hot air gun is more practical and limits the blackening of light colors. The result is a stunning effect! Do not hesitate to fill 100% in Cura for optimum strength. The die is balanced, many throwing tests have been made and these proved that the result of the throw was indeed random. The basic file corresponds to a 2 cm side dice. Simply set your software such as Cura to the value you want. To sum up, this is a calibration cube, which is useful afterwards. Feel free to share, love my creations, and especially share your makes of them – it really helps!
