I am sharing my initial planter design with you, which I created using 3D printing technology. This innovative self-watering planter is designed to accommodate two types of plants: those that thrive with water wicking and succulents that prefer not to be submerged in moisture. Each compartment features a fine mesh at the bottom, ensuring that dirt and soil remain within the pot while allowing for efficient drainage through the drain vents. The compartments are situated 2.5mm above the base floor, permitting excess water to either drain away or be reabsorbed into the soil if the water level is maintained. The removable drop-ins are designed for hassle-free cleaning of the base and easy switching between plants without disrupting neighboring roots. To maintain moisture levels, simply add water to the curved reservoir at the front until it reaches your desired depth (at least 5mm deep for optimal wicking). For succulents, pour water directly onto the soil in each compartment. As a result, excess water will flow out and can either be retained or quickly drained from the pot.
