6-Pdr. Field Gun 1841

This is a replica of the 6-pounder field gun used during the American Civil War. I endeavored to recreate it with utmost accuracy, although some modifications were necessary to make it printable. The model has been scaled down to approximately 1:12 so that you can utilize the same wheels as for the "Cannon from Castle of Buedingen" design. Below is a template used in drawing: Additionally, you will need: - A 3 mm x 190mm brass shaft for the axle, which can be flattened at the ends with a hammer and then drilled with a 1.5 mm hole. - Some nails and needles to secure the fittings. - Three M3 x 40mm threaded rods to fasten the cheeks. - An M3 x 18mm threaded rod for the elevator. - A 22mm long M3 threaded rod to attach the stock. - Four M2 x 10mm threaded rods with nuts and washers to secure the underside of the cheeks. If you use metal hexagonal nuts, it is recommended that you blacken them by heating and filing the M3 rectangular shape. The two eye plates should be bent outward at a 45° angle. This can be achieved by warming them in hot water.
