6 pack AAA battery holder (ANY NUMBER/SIZE POSSIBLE!)

I remixed the original design in Prusa Slicer to make a 6 pack, i think the method I used can be used to make ANY RANDOM NUMBER holders.Basically, I loaded the original 4 and 2 pack designs into Prusa Slicer, by default the slicer will import them both at the center of the bed, so the 2 pack holder perfectly overlaps the middle two spots of the 4 pack holder, this is important as it provides a very accurate position reference we use later.Check the dimensions of the two models in the bottom right corner, those two of course have the same Y and Z dimension and only the X is different. The 4 pack X is 51.85mm and the 2 pack X is 26.21mm.If we regard the size of the single holder as A and the overlap(to join the two single holders) as B then we effectively only need to solve the equation set 2A-B = 26.21 and 4A-3B = 51.85. This yields A=13.39 and B=0.57.Since we have perfect overlap of the 2 pack(step 1), we only need to move it along the X axis (type a new position in the bottom right corner of the slicer) by (3A-3B) to move it into the 5th and 6th battery position.we can then select both of the holders( slightly overlapped which is correct) and merge them, then we can print/export as new STL.This method can be used to make essentially any number, for example only move (2A-2B) in step 4 will result in a 5 pack.Hope this helps :)Category: DIY
