6 Inch Magnetic RV Utility Hatch
thingiverse
Our motorhome uses a boat-style access hatch to connect the water line, power cord, and campground utilities. This setup works well, but it leaves a sizable gap where the water line and power cords enter, creating a significant issue with mice or rats. The flange I designed is a direct replacement for the stock unit, ensuring seamless integration with the existing mounting holes in the storage bay. Once the hose/power cord are dropped through the hole in the new flange, a two-piece collar secures it in place using 15mm x 3mm magnets. This effectively closes off the gap, providing a secure seal. To purchase the same type of magnets used, visit https://amzn.to/2M9DxQE When preparing to leave and coil up the hose and power cord, a matching cover goes over the flange, secured by the same type of magnets. To remove it, simply push it sideways. I've included Fusion 360 files for modification and have tested the fitting with both the 50A power cord and water line. Both fit perfectly. If you need a modified version for a different sized power cord or hose, feel free to contact me for an upload.
